Decorating for Easter

If you want to decorate your home for Easter, this weekend is the ideal time to do it. We have already written about different Easter decoration styles but, if you don’t have much time or energy to do it properly, here are a few suggestions that are simple and easy and will freshen up your home..

Firstly, you don’t have to do a literal décor – i.e. not everything has to be based on the egg & rabbit theme. Fresh spring flowers, budding twigs & cherry blossoms can work very well and be used as Easter displays around your home.

Chocolate is another element that you can use – and not necessarily in egg shapes. Just make some chocolate cookies or brownies and put them in display bowls, on top of some bits of hay.

If you buy Easter eggs, hang them or in your window or on the twig arrangements I mentioned above – rather like a Christmas tree. If you have young children, hide the eggs around your home and let the kids find them. This will occupy them for hours! You can also make some egg-based dishes that would have a reference to Easter. For example boiled eggs and ham would be very appropriate for breakfast.

Easter is not really about celebration but reflection. So you should try to relax and enjoy the break. However, many people use this holiday to do their yearly home improvements, repairs, decoration, gardening or general spring cleaning. It’s a certainly a good time to start taking notes as to what needs to be done around your home, but I would recommend to revitalise your energy first and spend next weekend relaxing!

If you must spend Easter on DIY improvements, get organised now – try this weekend to source everything you’ll need for your projects. We have many posts about decoration, repairs, cleaning & gardening subjects on this site – either here in the blog, or in the DIY forum, or in the DIY Tips section. Feel free to browse around and we’d also love to hear your tips & suggestions!!!

We at DIY Together wish you a relaxing Easter break and good luck with your decorating!
